Unlike homes tucked into shaded canyons, many Edwards and Singletree properties sit on open benches with big sky and long sight lines. That view comes at a cost for the wood: south- and west-facing walls take punishing ultraviolet exposure at 7,220 feet and lose their protective coating noticeably faster than the shaded sides. We often build a maintenance plan around wall orientation here, refreshing the bright elevations on their own shorter cycle so the whole home stays protected without needlessly redoing walls that are still sound.

The mid-valley climate around Edwards brings warm days and cold nights, and that constant expand-and-contract rhythm is especially hard on the large joints in estate-scale logwork.
